Its world AIDS day a day celebrated on the 1st of December every year. It is a day for the purpose of showing support to those who have been affected by the virus. World AIDS Day 2018 is celebrated under the theme, “know your status.” It is the responsibility of every responsible adult to be informed of their HIV status. The majority of victims to the havoc of the disease is a result of not knowing your status.
Don’t give an excuse to remain in the dark about your status.
According to UNAIDS, 36.9 million people are living the virus as at 2017. This statistics proves that more still needs to be done in eradicating the virus. A higher percentage of this figure is in low-income and developing countries, this has brought about the need to mark the World AIDS Day. This day is all about showing support and campaigning with the use of the red ribbon to show solidarity to those with the virus.
The stigma kills faster than even he virus itself.
It is of grave importance to be educated about the reality of HIV in the society and educate others about discoveries concerning the disease. It is our responsibility to bring to the open available innovations and funding for those living with the virus. Join the millions of people around the world celebrating the World AIDS Day 2018.
