Currently, Flutterwave, is Africa’s leading payment technology company, the management of the company announced their collaboration with an American payment technology company PayPal on Tuesday, 16, 2021.
Over the years, it is impossible for freelancers, small and medium business owners in almost every African countries to receive money directly from PayPal, there is not given reasons why this is so, but, most Africans believe some factors like insufficient regulation and poor banking security in the affected countries, which is the thing of the past for all African freelancers, small and medium business owners.
The new development of Flutterwave with PayPal will allow all PayPal customers globally to pay African merchants in the continent directly through Flutterwave’s payment platform with the help of Flutterwave’s “Pay with PayPal” feature, before this collaboration deal, PayPal don’t allow some African countries from using their payment platform. This new service, is already available for all Flutterwave’s merchants with registered business accounts, and it will be operational in 50 African countries and worldwide. Flutterwave hopes to allow all individual merchants to enjoy the service very soon.
The Flutterwave technology company management said they would be able to overcome the several challenges by presented the highly fragmented and complex payment and banking infrastructure in Africa.
Flutterwave and PayPal collaboration will support both Small and Medium Enterprises and freelancers to connect to over 377 million PayPal account holders globally.
The collaboration will also solve all the challenges of lack of suitable payment solutions in Africa and other countries including United States and other countries that use PayPal globally, likewise meet all the demand for seamless transactions globally faced by Africa’s e-commerce ecosystem.

If you currently have Flutterwave account, on a Flutterwave merchant’s checkout page, you should look for the “Pay with PayPal” option.
Now click on “Pay with PayPal”, and follow the continue as you will be redirects you to your PayPal account to complete your payment as usual.
That’s it. After the payment, you will be automatically redirected to the merchant’s checkout page as payment is confirmed on the platform.
